FISH Screensavers for Macintosh?
Ever since we first introduced our Windows Screensavers, mac users have been asking for
Macintosh versions, and I have been promising to look into it.
What I have done this far is to run a Macintosh emulator on my PC (Basilisk II - it goes so much faster than my old retired mac) and to dig out an old compiler.
I have found that there are several ways to produce screensavers on macs, and that none of them are as "simple" as on windows. Almost.
The closest I could find was a screensaver called MacDim. It takes modules much like the way windows deals with it.
I even managed to compile a couple of experimental modules, but nothing even close to being release-worthy.
Anyway, I'm working on it. Slowly. Unfortunately I have to work for a living, so I can't explore this full time.
To speed things up a bit, I could really use some help from someone who is used to programming macintosh applications, maybe even screensavers on mac. So if you're a mac programmer,
and if you would like to help out with the porting of a couple of windows savers, please
drop me a line!
If you have some other interesting info on this subject, go ahead and write too.
