Corliss Lamont Sings for his Family and Friends

$10.00

"

""I always liked practically all forms of music and, living in New York City, often went to concerts, the opera and the best musical comedies. I learned by heart many of the hit tunes and songs from the musicals. These I sang to and with my family and friends. We would sometimes devote a whole evening to a songfest with everyone joining in. Driving home from ski trips in the winter, I would sing the more popular numbers to my children. Finally, even though I am an amateur, I thought it worthwhile to record a medley of the best songs, numbering about thirty-five. When I presented this record to various friends and members of my family, the response was enthusiastic. The old favorites evoked much nostalgic pleasure and long-forgotten memories. So I decided to make the record available to a more general public and to let Folkways bring out this second and revised recording."" - Dr. Corliss Lamont
