This work cites the extensive literature on the Pagan origins of Christianity. Most of these works, written by scholars for scholars, never reached the general reader, or are out of print or difficult to obtain by laymen who are interested in this field of study. This treatise addresses these shortcomings by outlining the works of many great scholars who have contributed to research in this area.

A reprint from the American Atheist Press of a classic book by John G. Jackson originally copyrighted in 1985, this book details the early pagan origins of the Christian Savior-God cults throughout history as well as other pagan origins of the Christ myth. His excellent descriptions of the practices of early religious cults and how they closely resemble the details of current Christian practices are quite illuminating for anyone who has wondered at their obvious similarities. Although the book is almost 30 years old at this writing in September of 2014; it still is an excellent reference for the freethinker looking for the truth. The bibliography containing many excellent books from the past is an excellent reference all by itself. I gave it four stars out of five because it is dated; modern archeology has discovered some things the author had no knowledge of, but doesn't materially effect the overall premise of the book, i.e., Christianity is in no way a new religion.
