Tell US whatever YOU want: I believe science is a beautiful thing and its a shame that culture and myth dominate largly over logic and reason, the sad truth is that not only dose the average person have no respect for other beliefs they also have no respect for themselves. People are all guilty of comforting themselves with god or the cosmos I myself am guilty of it this is a sensitive topic one thats personal and beutiful for each indivdual. I find it humerous that Christians of all people can't understand that or turn the other cheeck (a phrase from there bible) to allow others to have their own thoughts. In ither case life is to short to bogg yourself down in over zeolous ttemps to find the truth I am here to live, I am a scientist and I believe the divine is the syetem of all things working in harmony so you see for me there is no heaven or hell just the beuatiful motions of the system here and in the cosmos you know before Christianity there was greek and eygiptain myth, the myths are pretty but have a passing phase scince however is factual and infinite.
And for the christains who say how can you believe in evolution that somthing came from nothing and no one was around to collect data a billion years ago.. well isnt just like believing in God? he in your beliefe made somthing from nothing before recorded time...also. Even if your and Athesist, Agnostic, Jew, Wiccan, Christian, Baptist, if you belive anything life after death or not then you have a faith and no one should disrespect or belittle your deepestbeliefs within yourself. We are all animals guilty of greed and power so its understandable we bicker over things like this but in my opionion no one has the right thats why there is seperation of church and state we need to come to a compromise wicth ideally is impossible but also for both sides the "logical" and "christian" thing to do

true Christianity? I plan to put a Darwin fish AND an Xtian fish side by side on my car. The reason?
I am not an Xtian, but I feel there is no conflict between a Christian lifestyle and Darwinism, and I celebrate that.
Xtian teachings != Biblical literalism. How about slamming the poor unimaginative folks who take Genesis literally,
while missing the beauty of its allegory (and who often treat Darwinists in a most unChristian manner) ?

I read the "opponents" section. It's difficult to not get frustrated.
I was so disheartened when I read the ages of many of the opponents. They never even got the chance to think
about any other thoughts - their parents were shoving the Bible down their throats since their baptisms.
Those few solitary souls that said the world was not flat were ostracized & now, with enough time,
we all know that the world is round. It will just take time. But try not to stoop to their level - hatred is hatred -
even if it is in the name of "the lord".

I think your products and philosophies are: Refreshing break from the in-your-face and down-your-throat religious right (funny thing, the only ones who seem to need to do that are the Christian supremacists and Islamic fanatics; never met a Buddhist, Hindu, Jain or even a Unitarian who had to do such).

I don't agree with your idea that all followers of religion are stupid, selfish, arrogant, and ignorant people. I do agree with your products that say "I don't have a problem with God. It's his fan club I can't stand" cause that's how I feel. I mean, that's what at least I thought this country was based on - believing what you want to believe. I'm fine with someone not being pro-choice, and I'm fine with them believing in God just as long as they don't shove their beliefs down my throat - and there are plenty of religious people (I have a best friend who's one of them) who don't. Real men don't have to control, intimidate, beat, and rape women to make themselves feel more powerful. Only males who respect women and treat them as equals have the right to be called "Men" in my book. I guess I just wanted to thank you for your views. Yet, in the same breath they call Christianity the "truth" - quite interesting, don't you think? And, the last time I checked, there is lots of proof regarding evolution, but nothing that has proved anything in the bible - I think it was just a good story that got passed on

I proudly belong to the 15% of Americans who DO NOT follow any religion. I am also one of the few, proud women who have a Master's degree as well. Here's my opinion on the religion matter: I am tired of people assuming that I should believe in god (I refuse to capitalize the 'g') just because I live in America. This is a free country, unlike the communist countries in the world. I just LOVE to hear religious people threaten: "If you don't like worshipping god, then go live in another country". You religious people are so pathetic. Our country was never founded on religious beliefs, rather, it was founded to ESCAPE religious persecution in England (remember History 101, or did you NOT attend college, you religious people?) I get e-mails from ignorant relatives who assume that we all need to be religious since we live in America. They are usually chain-emails -- the kind that most kids pass to their friends in grade school. The most recent one I received said that the 14% of Americans who don't believe in god should "sit down and shut up". (Actually, there are 15% of Americans who don't believe in god. Those religious followers just can't get statistics right!)

I am so glad that someone finally had the guts to tackle the pledge of allegiance. It's about time that we stop forcing kids to mindlessly follow someone else's religious beliefs. I have a fourth grade son, and I do not agree with a school shoving religion down his throat. He is being taught to be an American freethinker. My son has many heroes to look up to: Albert Einstein, Robert Frost, Frank Lloyd Wright, John Lennon, Thomas Edison, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, Charles Darwin.

Tell us whatever YOU want to: I've previously been a pro-New Testament and anti- Old Testament Catholic that was repulsed by Jesus Freaks. Then I was put on the spot one day and asked how I could believe in part of the Bible but not the whole thing. In order to discover this for myself I started reading the works of the detractors of the bible. I've heard what the proponents have been saying, so I needed to hear what the opponents were saying in order to make an informed decision. I started with Thomas Paine because he's free on the internet. After reading his "Age of Reason" my appetite for opposition works was insatiable. I now know more about the bible than many believers and can easily quote some of the meanest, most degrading passages to the astonishment of believers in "the truth". True believers do not read the words that are written in the bible, if they read it at all. This book is such a piece of shit, at times its truly just incoherent rantings and gibberish. I challenge true believers to read some of the books that put things in proper perspective, such as "Biblical Errancies" and discover that Jesus was a thief, and a false prophet. That more prophesies went unfulfilled then a modern psychic and that their heroes such as Moses were savage baby killers that raped and pillaged those civilizations that they came in contact with. If more believers read the words that were written instead of the interpretations of those words that is spoon fed to them by those that make their living off fleecing the sheep, Christianity should be as dead Zoroastrianism Unfortunately the book "The Mind of the Bible Believer" pretty much shows that Christianity will never die until mental health becomes a priority.

Sixteen years later, I'm proud to say that I'm intelligent enough to know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong, fear of hell and fear of the truth. The fact that people have believed in, supported and maintained such a doctrine just to believe that the bad will be punished, the good rewarded, and that everything is in "someone else's" hand is nothing short of cowardly! For me it is enough that I am a living, breathing bundle of carbon, and I and I alone can make my own heaven on earth. Thank god (pun intended) that there are sites such as this. I used to believe that I was one of the few sane people in this world. Now I know I'm not alone.

The comments you so often make are wholly justified by the thoughtless, brainwashed, and often delusional criticisms you receive. In attempting to defend their 'faith' (a term I so loosely use) their disturbingly frequent lack of intelligence was simply put to use as an offense against them. Suffice it to say, if Christians continue to accept ignorance over enlightenment, and publicly wear the badge of Christianity while continuing in a lifestyle opposite thereof, you may never run out of ammunition to play your game of hunting ducks. In conclusion, and in making what I hope to be a fruitful point... I am a Christian. Hold on, take your finger off the trigger. Don't fire yet. I just want to let you in on a little secret. Just because a dog may have been taught the art of quacking certainly does not make him a duck. And just because a person preaches a homemade brand of Christianity and attends their corporate denominational 'church' every week most certainly does NOT make them a Christian. Tell us whatever YOU want to: As the child of fairly open-minded scientists, I found myself able to explore religion as an abstract concept rather than an ingrained set of rules; the conclusions I drew from my research and experience were that God is a pretty unbelievable fantasy, organized religion in general is designed to produce hordes of self-hating, self-denying, miserable, rule-bound servants, and religious fundamentalism is more terrifying than almost anything else on the planet. Therefore, I do my bit to support anti-religious organizations; I proudly wear an "Unsaved" shirt, I've got one of your Darwin fish pins on my lapel. It's nice to know that there are some more antichristian products out there to be bought and displayed by people like me.

But I find it amazing that this site is constantly bashed for hurting the Christians rights to free speech etc.. The notion that there's an invisible burning bush in the sky who's going to punish you eternally if you don't believe in him is absurd. That's the church's way of scaring people into being loyal. Organized religion, overall, has been our biggest hindrance, both socially and scientifically. If there IS an all-powerful being, then I'm sure that he (she/it/they) will not resemble the christian god, for the christian god is based on mythology, just like Zeus, Ra, and Santa. Their bible is nothing more than a book written a long time ago by people with 2000 year-old values. Sexism/racism/homophobia/etc. are generally seen as outdated philosophies which are just plain WRONG, yet many religious folks will clutch onto these values with white knuckles..... Why? Because an old book of superstitions tells them so, that's why. Look at many of the great conflicts of history (including recent history) that were caused by religious chest-pounding. When will people realize that organized religion harms all of us.... Remember: The earth is round, black cats are not bad luck, there is no Santa, and organized religion isn't good for anyone.
